June 18, 2008Mai 26.27.28 2008 ESBAM workshop(Julien Clauss, Alejo Duque, Scott Fitzgerald) ![]() Departing from the idea of working outside, in the outskirts of La Calanque de Sugiton. Individual perspectives of work:Scott
JulienI propose using a already build patch synthesis, made to be play by many user, each user play a parameter, the same patch run on each laptop (so sound same). Student start playing at the same place then move and continu to play in many place, connected with the adhoc network. can form a sound chain, perheap with spatialization from one computer to one other. Organise a group walk, peaple in line (with visual and hadhod contact from one to the next) then walk from esbam till calanque de sujiton. Can use the coordonate of the midle position of the line to generate a globale parameter to the patch. OR, can make a soundfliedwalk recording first, then use the soundfile as base of synthesis <-> played short sliced part related to theposition gived by the gps. A way to rewalk inside past recording and generate new sound with this. Alejo:Proposes the use of ad-hoc networks to share captured/generated data from each laptop via OSC or netsend, some tests have been done. On the sound processing side im not to fond to the idea of everyone using the same patch and walking in order to la calanque. We can also consider playing with net-pd: http://www.netpd.org/About that could be part of the workshop day activities.
Programm of the workshopDay 1 May 26intro and walk to the calanque for sound and g.p.s data recording Day 2 May 27data processing, audio editing and map creation: google_map_calanque Day 3 May 28morning tests and disscusion, data visualization and final presentation at la calanque here is a video of the animated tracklog: Achiveshere is the archive of the sound files used: http://nujus.net/~locusonus/dropbox/coordination/img/2008_wksp_marseille/calanque_promenade/ escape:![]() |
