| Art magazines are the primary media to validate my work and identify me as an artist. This is one reason I decided to use an art magazine as material for this piece. Much in the same way as artists carve wood or work in plaster, I've carved into art magazines. When I cut into them, I expose the inside pages and accelerate the experience of reading the magazine. The result is an MTV speeded up magazine experience without ever opening it. |
